Research
Evaluate ETU components and collaborate with partner institutions to expand the body of literature on young adult tobacco use and tobacco control strategies in college settings.
The EndTobacco™ Program team at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center conducts annual site visits with Eliminate Tobacco Use partner institutions to review updates to their tobacco control strategies and provide support as needed.
Initially developed to benchmark tobacco-free efforts at The University of Texas System campuses, the dashboard has since expanded to include institutions statewide, reflecting the initiative's Steering Committee membership of institutions beyond the UT System.
Want to add your institution to the dashboard? Email EndTobacco@MDAnderson.org.

Scoring Methodology
The Campus Progress Dashboard is divided into three categories: policy, prevention, and cessation. Each institution is scored on a binary scale—0 for not achieving a goal area and 1 for achieving it within the given academic fiscal year. All goal areas are weighted equally.
Some areas may not apply to specific campuses and are excluded from the subtotal for the category; these are marked as “If Applicable.” The “Tobacco-Free Hiring” goal is encouraged but not required. While it does not affect the overall score, it demonstrates a commitment to tobacco-free workforce policies.
The overall score is calculated by averaging the total score across the three categories and is displayed as a percentage in the overall score column. This score is calculated annually and does not include data from previous years.
