The City of San Antonio’s Tobacco 21 City Ordinance went into effect October 1, 2018. In an effort to educate UTSA students about the ordinance and the fact that campus is covered as part of this important place-based public health policy, UTSA Student Health Services collaborated with San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) in social media efforts leading up to the ordinance effective date. Promotional posts targeting Road Runner students ran from September through November of 2018.
